Overlooked Portals: Giving Attention to God's Breadcrumb Trails

Stoeffler Art Studio, Nanci Stoeffler, Cemetry, Poetry, New Palestine Cemetery

A wintry graveyard’s guardians

with limbs now exposed but for

a few stiff, brown leaves still clinging.

I observe one little fellow

wiggling from the wind’s presence

until torn from its post, swirling,

seemingly tossed randomly

upon a perpetually silent, still grave.

Giving consent to this simple moment,

I am pierced with painful euphoria

as my soul expands into liquified gold,

revealing a threshold leading

into epic vastness.
